Mason Basten has been exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains since before he can even remember. His first memories of floating down the river with his father and siblings was at age 4 or 5. It is safe to say he is most comfortable in his beloved Blue Ridge and on his home river, the Mighty James. His favorite activity other than spending time with his family is introducing people to all of Virginia’s natural wonders in a safe and relaxing way. On a personal note, Mason has been known to have quite the gift of gab, and enjoys telling a good story here and there.
