Canoe Trips
If the tube or the kayak don’t suit your needs it must be because your needs include more than just yourself. Perhaps a fishing friend, a bathing beauty, a spouse, a sibling, or man’s best friend will be accompanying you on the river. If this be the case then you will certainly be needing one of our two person canoes. These boats are great for a short day float or with their ample gear carrying capabilities perhaps you have set your eyes on a longer multi day trip. We are very accommodating with our canoe rentals, we encourage our customers to do overnight/multi day trips to truly appreciate and enjoy the James River. We are willing to run shuttles from as far up the river as Eagle Rock and as far down the river as Maiden’s Landing just outside of Richmond (Eagle Rock to Maiden’s at Richmond is a 10-15 day trip). The James River Float Company has a great deal of appreciation for people such as you who have an adventurous spirit and enjoy overnight, self guided trips. We will customize these trips on a trip by trip basis, complete with shuttles around the dams as well as food drops available in three day intervals (Snowden to Lynchburg, roughly 30 miles with several dams).
Pricing varies from $25/pp 6 mile float to as much as $55/pp for multi day excursions (special services provided).
All trips include shuttle, life jackets, paddles, general trip information, and maps (for short trips).All canoe occupants must participate in a brief mandatory self-rescue and canoeing for dummies seminar before shoving off.
